ENJOY und BlueOcean Gaming: Neue Partnerschaft globalisiert Spielerlebnisse

Game developer ENJOY expands its reach through a new partnership with the BlueOcean Gaming platform. This means new games for a larger audience, although the path to Germany is still long.

What happened

Game developer ENJOY Gaming has announced a strategic partnership with BlueOcean Gaming. This collaboration will integrate ENJOY's growing game portfolio into BlueOcean's GameHub platform. This opens up new markets for ENJOY and reaches a significantly larger player base. For BlueOcean, it means expanding their offering with fresh content. Our editorial team closely monitors such developments.

Background

BlueOcean Gaming is no stranger to the iGaming sector. The company provides a comprehensive B2B aggregator platform, the so-called GameHub. This GameHub bundles games from various developers and makes them available to online casinos. Many of these casinos operate under international licenses, such as those from Malta (MGA) or Curacao. ENJOY Gaming is a relatively young developer. They are known for their innovative game concepts and appealing graphics. By connecting to BlueOcean's GameHub, ENJOY gains access to a huge network of over 700 online casinos. This is a massive step for a provider of this size. Such partnerships are common in the industry to maximize game distribution. We have seen many similar agreements in recent years. Platforms like BlueOcean Gaming serve as important intermediaries between game developers and online gambling site operators.

Why it matters for German players

For German players who exclusively play in GGL-licensed casinos, this particular partnership currently has little direct relevance. Most games distributed via BlueOcean Gaming are not currently available in Germany. This is due to strict German regulation. The Joint Gambling Authority of the Länder (GGL) has very specific requirements for games. These include technical specifications, stake limits, and player verification. Many international developers must first adapt their games to meet these standards. Casinos with MGA or Curacao licenses, which often access BlueOcean's GameHub, are not permitted to offer services in Germany. The GGL actively combats illegal providers. In our experience, much of the content found on such aggregators does not comply with the German Interstate Treaty on Gambling. German players are therefore advised to stick to the well-known and licensed providers. These include names like Jackpotpiraten, Löwen Play Online, Merkur Slots, or CrazyBuzzer. Only there is safe and legal gameplay guaranteed. We often see a great discrepancy between the global offering and the German reality here.

What it means for GGL-licensed casinos

For online casinos with a German GGL license, this particular partnership does not immediately mean an expansion of the game portfolio. The integration of games into GGL-licensed casinos is a complex process. Every new slot machine must be reviewed and approved by the GGL. This ensures that the games comply with the strict requirements of the Interstate Treaty on Gambling. Youth protection and player protection are paramount. Developers like ENJOY would have to adapt their games specifically for the German market. This concerns technical aspects, mathematical models, and compliance with betting limits. The implementation of play breaks and panic buttons is also mandatory. So far, many international developers focus on markets with less stringent regulations. However, it is not ruled out that ENJOY may target the German market in the future. This would, however, require a significant investment in compliance. Until then, established providers such as Novomatic, Merkur, or Play'n GO remain the primary content suppliers for GGL casinos. They have already certified and adapted their games accordingly. German regulation is a hurdle for game developers that not everyone is willing or able to take. But it ensures a high level of player safety, which we highly value in our editorial team.
