India’s Supreme Court Set for Final Ruling on National Online Gaming Ban

The legal battle over the future of the Indian online gaming market is reaching its peak. A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana, has decided to commence final hearings on a series of lawsuits against the new prohibitive law. The dispute centers on the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025, which was passed by Parliament on August 21, 2025, and received presidential assent the following day.
